Q & A

There’s a ton of info here, but it’s questions I get quite often (and some of it is important) so read up!

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes I do! Just let me know and I can send you an invoice through PayPal.

Q: What should we wear to our engagement shoot?
A: Dress comfortably! We’ll be doin’ lots of walking. Stay away from white shirts if possible. Sun dresses on women always look great in pics. If you’re more comfortable in jeans, that works too. Some people might do an outfit change if they’d like which I don’t mind at all, pets are welcome too!

Q: How early should we do our engagement shoot?
A: Some people use engagement photos for their save the date card, others just use it to have pics shown at the wedding (and on Facebook). I would suggest the LATEST you do your engagement shoot to be 3 weeks prior to the wedding. On average, most people do it 3-9 months before their wedding date.

Q: How long have you been shooting weddings?
A: Since late 2009. I’ve shot over 100 with 3 out of country, and 2 out of state.

Q: What kind of camera do you use?
A: I shoot with two Nikon D700’s. One usually has a 35mm f/1.4 lens mounted, and the other has an 85mm f/1.4 lens. Of course there’s hundreds of other tid-bits that I use (as well as back up gear), but I consider that my workhorse setup.

Q: Do you bring a 2nd photographer?
A: I discuss this with the couple, and if we decided one is needed, then they’ll be there. There’s an extra hourly charge, but it’s quite minimal.

Q: How much of a deposit is required to secure the date?
A: Your date is safe the second you email me. If someone else inquires about it, only then will I require a deposit which is $500. I give people enough time to take care of this before I move on to the next person, never had any issues with it. This deposit is non-refundable depending on the circumstances.

Q: How many final images can I expect?
A: On average, I’d say around 800-1200 depending on the length of the wedding. I’d say it’s safe to expect 100 final images per hour.

Q: The blog images are great, but can I view some complete wedding galleries you’ve done?
A: Of course! I don’t post complete wedding galleries online for privacy reasons, but shoot me an email and I’ll be more than happy to link you to some full wedding galleries I’ve done.

Q: Do you have any recognitions?
A: I do actually! I was named one of the Top 5 photographers of 2009 you might not have known about in early 2010 by Scott Kelby. For those unfamiliar, Scott Kelby is a world-renowned photographer, designer, and an award-winning author of more than 40 books that deal with the computer/graphic arts industry. Q: What’s up with your bird logo?
A: Honestly, I have no idea. I wanted to base my design around doves since they set them free at weddings (in movies at least), one thing led to another, now there’s a bird with colored feathers on my site.
