ENGAGEMENT // Tony & Nikki

Ever since I saw engagement photos done in tall grass I have been dying to try it out. I remembered two years ago I found a spot that was in the middle of nowhere, yet only 15 minutes from my house. I went ahead and checked it out early in the morning and it was just what I had imagined, and even better. We ended up headed over there, along with some good ‘ole Wortham Theater shots towards the end. Tony and Nikki were awesome to work with and I look forward to shooting their wedding as well early next month :)

— Update: I went ahead and added a few more shots to the set.

April 26, 2010 - 3:06 pm jessica.s - i love the flare you did on those pictures, do you have any pointers i can learn from? around what time did you shoot this? i cant seem to get all that flare in my pictures like you

April 26, 2010 - 7:50 pm Costas - Hi Jessica, the best way to get flare like that is to shoot at around 6-7pm when the sun is setting, that way it's really low to the ground and it hits the lens directly. The type of lens you're using also determines how much flare you'll get :)

April 26, 2010 - 11:32 pm jessica.s - i have a 17-40f4 28-70f2.8 and a 135f2 do you think i can achieve the flare and colors like you? did you go into lightroom to adjust your colors and to photoshop? what are some key areas i should edit while im in lightroom? do you think you can show me a couple of unedited pictures so i know what to aim for? thanks again for your help cant stop looking at your pictures!

June 27, 2010 - 12:03 am Costas - i really have no idea what the address is to be honest. i go down bissonnet, i make a left on 1464, then my first right, then first right again, another first right, a first left... actually, i'll just have to go back there and get an address near by if there is one because it feels impossible to give directions lol, but it's here in houston though.
